Its been a busy time at 2J Design over the past few months, not only did my Wife have a baby boy so had to take abit of time out we are working on securing a new partnership with a leading online retailer, in the coming months we will announce details about our merge with another company which will be very beneficial to our company. One of the more difficult with magento is locating all the files for creating custom design templates for your online store.
There is a very handy little tool for developers built into Magento Ecommerce, this will enable the template hints in the front end making it much faster to locate the template files you are wanting to modify, each section of the website will have red outlines with the location and name of the file.

Here is how to turn is on.

Go to website admin.
Then Navigate, System – configuration
Look for the Developer tab toward the bottom left of the menu.
You then need to ensure you select the current configuration Scope for the website (eg. MainWebsite)
Then under Debug, select Template Path Hints to Yes

This will enable the path hints in the website front end making your work much faster.
